Eyes wide open staring at the black abyss

Clock keeps ticking mocking all the rest I miss

Pacing the floor searching for some peace

Chains of my own thoughts never feeling release

Can't close my eyes my mind's a war

Pounding drums within can't take much more

Darkness swirls like poison in my veins

Insomnia roaring louder than my pain

Shadows on the wall they laugh they crawl

Minutes turn to hours in an endless sprawl

Every breath like fire burning trace of calm

Can't hear silence it's a deafening bomb

Don't scream don't shout the void won't care

A prison within with no cross to bear

Heart's racing faster like a runaway train

Lost in the echo of my restless brain

Can't close my eyes my mind's a war
