In the days of trees, when the world was new,
The Valar built a land so true,
With stars that shined in the darkest skies,
The elves awoke, their voices rise.
From Cuiviénen, they roamed so far,
To Valinor's light, like a shining star.
But some stayed back, to watch and fight,
In Middle-earth, through endless night.
Oh, sing of elves and dwarves so bold,
Of hobbits small with hearts of gold!
In Middle-earth, the stories flow,
Where battles rage and rivers glow!
---
Then Fëanor’s pride, and Silmarils bright,
Led the elves to war, into endless night.
They crossed the sea on stolen ships,
And Morgoth’s darkness gripped their lips.
Through battles long and songs of woe,
The light of Valinor began to go.
Yet still they fought, with hope so thin,
To break the dark and let light in!
Oh, sing of elves and dwarves so bold,
Of hobbits small with hearts of gold!
In Middle-earth, the stories flow,
Where battles rage and rivers glow!
---
The dwarves dug deep, in mountains high,
For gems and gold that caught the eye.
In Khazad-dûm, their hammers rang,
Till shadows rose where Balrogs sang.
But still they march, with axes bright,
Through caves and stone, they claim their right.
Their halls of stone, a mighty song,
That echoes loud and echoes long!
The hobbits live in the Shire green,
With pies and ales and lands serene.
But when the world began to shake,
It was the hobbits who'd stand and wake!
From Bag End to Mordor’s flame,
They played their part, and took their claim!
---
Oh, sing of elves and dwarves so bold,
Of hobbits small with hearts of gold!
In Middle-earth, the stories flow,
Where battles rage and rivers glow!
---
[Outro]
Now men have risen, kingdoms high,
With swords and shields beneath the sky.
The ages pass, but songs remain,
Of elves, of men, of dwarves’ refrain.
So raise your voice and let it be,
A song of Middle-earth, wild and free!
