An anger I did not forge controls me

Like a cancer, it consumes me

Till I don’t recognize my face

In a world that showed no mercy

I chose thunder in its place

I can feel it taking over

Every breath, every mistake

Like a fire I can’t escape

I adapted to a life without feeling

Not by choice, but by need

When I begged for light and mercy

All I got was darkness feeding me

Now I walk through something broken

Something I don’t understand

I don’t know the man I was

I don’t know who I am

I became the villain they created

Built from everything I hated

Now the fire’s all I know

And I can’t let go

I became the anger I was given

A cold heart barely living

Now the cancer’s in control

And it won’t let go

There’s a voice I barely recognize

Echoes buried deep inside

Telling me I wasn’t always this

Before something in me died
