My Prayer

Dear God, You say I’m chosen

And that everything happens for a reason

You saw my steps long before

I ever knew my name or my season

I’ve stumbled, I’ve cried, I’ve bled

But I’ve never been forsaken

You held me through every trial

Even when my faith was shaken

So I lift my hands in surrender

Even when my soul feels tired

‘Cause I know You’re the fire

That lights the way through the night

I’m grateful for life, even in the pain

I praise You for sunshine and I praise You in the rain

For every gift You gave and every lesson learned

For the bridges I crossed and the ones I burned

Lord, shut the doors that aren’t for me

Open the ones that lead to destiny

Plant my feet on solid ground

Let Your purpose in me be found

Dear God, I won’t pretend

That I always understand Your ways

But I trust Your heart, I trust Your plan

Through the dark and brighter days

Place the right ones in my circle

Take the wrong ones out with grace

Build me, mold me, use me

Let me run this holy race

So I’ll keep walking by Your light

Even when the road gets rough
