Rebuke the Darkness

In a world full of shadows, where dreams fade away,

They whisper sweet nothings, coax you to betray.

But beneath the surface, I hold my ground tight,

I won't trade my soul for a moment of light.

They paint a pretty picture, call it success,

The glitter, the gold, oh why must I stress?

They say it’s just business, don’t feel such disgrace,

But I see the price, just a soul out of place.

They don’t know my battles, they can't see my scars,

In the dark night, I’m reaching for stars.

I won’t let the devil, take a hold of my will,

In the face of temptation, I stand strong and still.

I rebuke you, devil, in the name of the light,

No selling my spirit, I won’t lose this fight.

All my good souls around me, we rise from the fall,

With faith as our armor, together we’ll stand tall.

But what’s in the balance? Just life in a game.

We’re losing our morals, our hearts grow cold,

But I’ll keep on praying, I’ll never be sold.
