Chasing My Echo

Round and round, I keep chasing my tail,

Heavy footsteps, destinies frail.

Running in circles, lost in the maze,

Trying to find light through this cloudy haze.

Tried to be good, tried to be kind,

But life keeps knocking, I’m losing my mind.

What did I do, what’s the crime?

Is there a map for a twisted mind?

Need a redo, a clean slate,

A sign, a moment to change my fate.

Floating on the edge, just scraping by,

Feels like giving up, I wonder why.

Can’t say goodbye, I hold on tight,

Searching for dawn in the dead of night.

Countless wrongs, I wear them like scars,

Yearning for hope beneath the stars.

Need a chance, a fresh new start,

To heal this broken, battered heart.

Circles ending, but I won’t fall,
