The tarmac fades, the engines roar, a rumble deep and grand,
A gentle push, then up I soar, above this solid land.
The city lights begin to gleam, a tapestry below,
Another dream, a waking dream, where only eagles go.
Oh, the feeling, pure and strong, as I climb into the blue,
A velvet sky, where I belong, with nothing holding me.
Through misty veils of cloud I break, to greet the golden sun,
A breathtaking, sweet mistake, till gravity is undone.
The steady hum, a rhythmic beat, of propellers in the breeze,
A powerful and peaceful treat, that puts my soul at ease.
No earthly chains, no daily grind, just endless, open space,
A freedom that’s so hard to find, a smile upon my face.
To think that man, with clever hand, could conquer air and height,
To leave the ground, and understand, the wonder of this flight.
The tiny homes, like scattered toys, a miniature display,
Reminding me of simple joys, so far, so far away.
And as I glide, on silver wings, above the world so wide...
This soaring heart, it softly sings... fading into the night...
Yeah, nothing left to hide... just the endless, jazz-filled sky...
... Goodnight...
