🎵 "Sermon on the Mount"
By Gerald Logan
(Verse 1)
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
The kingdom of heaven is theirs.
Blessed are the ones who mourn,
For God will dry all their tears.
Blessed are the meek and lowly,
They’ll inherit all the land.
Blessed are the hearts that hunger,
For righteousness will stand.
(Chorus)
Come and sit by the mountain side,
Hear the Savior speak of life.
Love your enemies, do what's right,
Let your light shine through the night.
Build your house upon the rock,
Where the winds and waters pound,
And you’ll stand strong, forever long,
On the sermon on the mount.
(Verse 2)
Blessed are the pure in heart,
They will see the face of God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
They’re children of the Lord.
Don’t repay with hate or anger,
Turn the other cheek instead.
Pray for those who curse your name,
And bless them in your stead.
(Chorus)
Come and sit by the mountain side,
Hear the Savior speak of life.
Love your enemies, do what's right,
Let your light shine through the night.
Build your house upon the rock,
Where the winds and waters pound,
And you’ll stand strong, forever long,
On the sermon on the mount.
(Bridge)
He taught us how to pray,
“Give us this day, forgive our sins,
As we forgive, and lead us not
Where evil’s trap begins.”
Seek first the kingdom and His will,
And all you need will be fulfilled.
(Verse 3)
Don’t store up your treasure here,
Where moth and rust decay.
Where your treasure lies, my friend,
Your heart will surely stay.
Ask, and it will be given,
Knock, the door will open wide.
Enter by the narrow gate,
And walk right by His side.
(Final Chorus)
Come and sit by the mountain side,
Let the Savior shape your life.
Love your enemies, do what's right,
Let your light shine through the night.
Build your house upon the rock,
Where the winds and waters pound,
And you’ll stand strong, forever long,
On the sermon on the mount.
