I wasn’t born in their house,
But God wrote me into their story.
He whispered, “Son, this is your place,”
And He covered it all with His glory.
I saw their hands getting tired,
I saw their hearts still strong,
And something in me answered,
“Lord, I’ll help them carry on.”
I’m not here by accident,
I’m here ’cause Heaven planned it.
When God calls a son to rise,
He gives the strength to stand in it.
So I’m stepping in — with God first,
Walking out the purpose He rehearsed.
I’ll serve with love, I’ll stand with grace,
I’ll honor them in every place.
’Cause when God builds a family,
Blood ain’t the only tie that binds.
I’m a spiritual son with a physical heart,
And I’m here for the rest of the climb.
They prayed when I was breaking,
They held me when I fell.
They spoke life into my future
When I couldn’t see it myself.
Now I’m standing in their doorway,
Saying, “What do you need today?”
’Cause the same God who lifted me
Taught me how to stay.
I’ll lift their arms like Aaron,
I’ll walk beside like Ruth.
I’ll guard the house like Joshua,
I’ll speak the Word in truth.
And every step I’m taking,
I’m taking in His name —
’Cause serving those who raised me
Brings Heaven into flame.
I’m stepping in — with God first,
Walking out the purpose He rehearsed.
A son in spirit, a son in deed,
Here to love, protect, and meet the need.
’Cause when God builds a family,
He ties it with His own design.
I’m a spiritual son with a physical heart,
And I’m here for the rest of the climb.
