Shadows in My Mind

Dark clouds, heavy, rain falling in my chest,

Breathing feels hollow, life put me to the test.

Clock ticking loud, every second feels cursed,

Staring at the void, wondering what’s worse.

Don’t wanna be here, pain’s my only guide,

Heart screaming out, but I keep it locked inside.

Every step a burden, every breath a fight,

Searching for a spark in this endless night.

Mirror shows a stranger, face cracked and cold,

Soul feels ancient, though I’m not that old.

Whispers in my head, they never seem to quit,

A battle with myself, and I’m losing bit by bit.

World keeps spinning, but I’m stuck in place,

Trying to find a reason in this empty space.

Grief wrapped around me, tight like a chain,

Every smile fake, hiding all the pain.
