[Verse 1]
J-J-Joe sat in the corner, feet up on a chair,
Cybernetic skull shining through the smoky air.
Three-inch dent above his eye from a bullet years ago,
He lived to tell the story, but his words come kinda slow.
His favorite drink was glowing in a glass there in his hand,
White lightning mixed with motor oil—the finest in the land.
The piano played a slow tune, the jukebox hummed along,
And J-J-Joe was talking to a girl who liked his song.
[Chorus]
J-J-Joe, lawman of the radioactive plains,
Half man, half machine, and bad news for bad guys' games.
His words may take a little time, but his iron never does,
And the women love a lawman who can handle what he does.
So think before you laugh and choose your words real slow,
There's a long black train to Boot Hill when you mess with J-J-Joe.
[Verse 2]
A wannabe gangster swaggered in with something to prove,
Saw Joe talking to the pretty girl and decided he should move.
He laughed about the stutter and said, "What's wrong with you?"
The piano stopped. The glasses stopped. Nobody knew what to do.
Joe slowly turned his metal head and looked him in the eye,
Took another sip of motor oil and gave a little sigh.
Then he said, "Are you t-t-talking to m-m-me, s-s-son?"
The kid suddenly looked nervous, but he couldn't turn and run.
[Verse 3]
Joe said, "There's still a chance, boy. You can walk right out that door.
Apologize to the lady and we won't discuss no more.
Leave this town tonight and keep your pride intact."
The kid just grinned and reached for his gun.
Joe said, "Well... t-t-that's that."
They walked into the street beneath the wasteland sun,
Every window filled with faces waiting to see who'd run.
Joe stood there like a statue, hand beside his iron gun,
Then looked across the dusty street and said,
"Y-y-your m-m-move, b-b-boy."
[Verse 4]
The kid was fast, his pistol cleared the leather,
A flash across the street, then silence altogether.
But Joe's cybernetic hand was faster than the light,
One sharp crack split the air, and Joe was still upright.
The kid was Boot Hill bound before the dust could settle down.
Joe holstered Iron and walked back into the town.
The pretty girl was waiting there, smiling like she knew.
She said, "You always this romantic?"
Joe said, "I-I-I try to b-b-be."
[Final Chorus]
J-J-Joe, lawman of the radioactive plains,
His words may stumble sometimes, but his iron never does.
Every fool who tests him learns exactly who Joe was.
Raise a glass of lightning oil and let the piano roll:
There's another fool in B-B-Boot Hill...
And J-J-Joe's still in control.
[Outro]
Bartender: "Another drink, Joe?"
Joe: "Th-th-the usual."
He looks at the girl.
"I-I-I'll be d-d-dancing l-l-later."
