Shadows of Love and Struggle

Born in a family, deep in faith,

Grew up good, but as a teen, life turned grittier.

We had the riches, but lived like the poor,

Struggles inside that opened a door.

Childhood memories, easy days, no stress,

But shadows grew long, we felt the mess.

Fortune at our doors, yet hunger in our rooms,

Living hollow lives, surrounded by gloom.

2018, decisions had to be made,

Between love and home, where my heart was laid.

Sahar, my flame, the love of my life,

Faced the storm, the pain, the strife.

In a foreign land, trying to find my way,

Work and hope, every night and day.

Dentistry dreams, new hopes to hold,

Fighting the cold, breaking the mold.

Saw Sahar again, flames reignited,

Frozen love, almost indicted.

Thought I’d forget, but memories surged,

In that holiday, feelings emerged.

Reunited in a moment, hearts beat fast,

But darkness returned, shadows cast.

She drifted away, back into the night,

Fell sick and fragile, needed the light.

Love's a journey, steep and rough,

Sometimes you gotta fight for enough.

Healing her smile, in hospital halls,

Love stands tall, despite the falls.

From faith to struggle, from love to pain,

Every loss, every gain, made me remain,

Stronger, wiser, with dreams to defend,

Through it all, love’s the ultimate end.
