Every believer has that day
When quitting feels easier than standing.
That day you whisper, “God, I can’t sing anymore…
I can’t preach anymore.”
You still go to church,
But only because you refuse to abandon the One who owns you.
I had that day.
I sat on my couch and opened my heart to God.
I said, “Father, like this… I can’t take it.
Like this… I can’t keep going.”
And He said, “I only want to ask you two things.”
And I thought, “Alright… He is God.”
Then He leaned close and whispered:
Sing for Me, preach for Me
While I’m using you, I’m working there
Sing for Me, preach for Me
While I’m using you, I’m working there
Sing for Me, preach for Me
While I’m using you, I’m working there
Just make room.
And I said, “Lord, if that’s what You want… then I’ll obey.
But let me open my heart
So You can understand why I wanted to stop.”
And I told Him — and I know many here feel the same:
I’m wounded, yes — but I’m still in the fight
I’m hurting, yes — but I’m still in the fight
It’s painful, yes — but I’m still in the fight
And before me walks the General of war.
I’m wounded, yes — but I’m still in the fight
I’m hurting, yes — but I’m still in the fight
It’s painful, yes — but I’m still in the fight
And before me walks the General of war.
I’m wounded, but I’m marching
I’m hurting, but I’m fighting
I’m bleeding, but I’m moving
Because Jehovah goes ahead of me.
Sing for Me, preach for Me
While I’m using you, I’m working there
Sing for Me, preach for Me
While I’m using you, I’m working there.
While I use you, I’m working there
While I use you, I’m working there
While I use you, I’m working there
While I use you, I go to war —
For I am Jehovah.
So sing and preach, sing and preach
Sing and preach, sing and preach.
