Rising from the Ashes

Walking through shadows, trying to find my light

Day by day, fighting the night

Kansas streets, dreams in my sight

This is my fight, this is my plight

Broken past, scars I hide

Fighting PTSD, tears I've cried

DoorDash runs, my daily stride

Building anew, with hope as my guide

Two wheels turning, chasing my dreams

Nothing is easy, or so it seems

But in my heart, I hear the screams

Of my future, bursting at the seams

Rising from the ash, I stand tall

Breaking free, breaking walls

Each dash, I hear my call

To find my strength, and finally fall

Six months of grind, pushing through

Funds are low, but I stay true

Planning my escape, Texas in view

A new life, my breakthrough

Lost some money, feeling the burn

But I won’t give up, it’s my turn

From the shadows, I yearn

For a new chapter, I’ll learn

Rising from the ash, I stand tall

Breaking free, breaking walls

Each dash, I hear my call

To find my strength, and finally fall

Fighting the fears that haunt my mind

Seeking peace, some hope to find

A camper awaits, a home aligned

To leave the past behind
