“Let the Truth Speak”

I saw my name upon the screen tonight,

A few little words beneath the light.

People laughing, people passing by,

But nobody asked me if it was right.

They made a story out of what they knew,

Added a little here, invented a few.

I could answer every word they said,

But I’d rather keep my peace instead.

’Cause I know who I am,

And I know what is true.

I don’t need to tear somebody down

Just to prove what I never knew.

So let the truth speak when I’m silent,

Let my actions tell my story.

I won’t trade my peace for anger,

I won’t turn this into war.

They can write whatever they want,

They can laugh and let it fly,

But the truth has never needed

A thousand words to survive.

A name is more than just a name,

It carries years of trust and faith.

So before you point your finger,

Make sure you know the whole mistake.

I’m not saying I’m perfect,

I’ve got faults like everyone.

But I won’t carry accusations

For things I’ve never done.

And maybe I could fight back,

Maybe I could make them see,

But revenge is not the answer

To the person I want to be.

So let the truth speak when I’m silent,

Let my actions tell my story.

He knows what people cannot see.

When the world makes its judgment,

He knows the heart inside of me.

Sometimes strength is simply standing

And refusing to cross that line.

Let the years reveal what’s real.

I will walk with my head lifted,

Knowing what my heart can feel.

They can tell their side of the story,

They can say what they believe,

But I’ll keep my faith and character—

And let the truth speak for me.

I won’t chase every rumor,

I won’t answer every lie.

God knows the truth about me…
