Unfailing Love

Oh Lord, I come to You with open hands

Searching deep within these shifting sands

You've loved me when I was lost and cold

Your mercy's song forever told

Long ago, I thought Your love was just a gift from Mom

That You were watching, waiting on my wrongs to calm

Then marriage came, I saw it through her gentle prayer

Thinking love was service, thinking that You cared

But now I see beyond my selfish view

Your love's a fire pure and true

It’s not based on what I do

It's simply who You are, it pulls me through

God, You love me so strong, so free

It’s a mystery I can't see

Though I stumble, fall, and stray

Your love remains the same every day

Help me try harder just to stay

Close in Your love’s endless sway

I've let You down, I've turned away I know

But Your love's a river that keeps on flowing slow

In my stubbornness, I sometimes forget

Your patience is endless, I won’t forget

Help me be the man You want me to be

Fill my soul with humility

Though I don’t deserve Your grace

Your love forever will embrace

Oh Lord, I kneel again in prayer

To thank You for a love so rare

Help me walk in You each day

To trust Your love that guides my way
