America’s drug crisis starts at home,
With demand so high, the trade has grown.
Fentanyl, meth—consumed in stride,
Fueled by addiction that’s hard to hide.
Though blame is cast on foreign lands,
Most drugs cross borders in Americans' hands.
U.S. citizens smuggle the deadly supply,
Exploiting weak defenses as profits sky high.
Drugs flow north, guns flow south,
An "iron river" with no drought.
Cartels trade drugs for U.S. arms,
Fueling violence with deadly charms.
If the goal is to stop the deadly flow,
Why fire the agents who fight the foe?
The DEA cut, their numbers thin,
While cartels grow stronger and profits win.
The FBI weakened, their ranks reduced,
As crime networks thrive, their power induced.
Defenses crumble, the shield wears thin—
How can you fight if you won’t begin?
You talk of walls to block the skies,
Yet fire the hands that help us rise.
The FAA cut, defenses fall,
Who’ll guard the air when you’ve thinned them all?
Planes unchecked, smugglers take flight,
Exploiting gaps in our oversight.
Drugs soar high while defenses stall—
Who’ll guard the skies when you fire them all?
Blame Canada, Mexico, and China too,
For fentanyl's rise and the crisis we rue.
Tariffs slapped on goods in haste,
While ignoring the backyard laid to waste.
The demand is here, the roots run deep,
But deflection’s the promise he chose to keep.
Trade wars rage, prices climb high,
Yet the true fight at home is left to die.
Infrastructure weakens, defenses fade,
By slashing the hands that keep threats at bay.
Blame is cast, but the truth is clear—
We’re dismantling our shield while danger draws near.
Ports of entry hold most of the flow,
Yet resources there are too slow to grow.
A wall was built where drugs rarely pass—
While smugglers adapt and outwit en masse.
So tell us now how this makes sense:
To weaken our shield and drop defense?
Cutting agents while crises expand—
How can you fight with a hollowed hand?
The cartels thrive on what we crave,
While treatment and prevention could lives save.
To fight this war, we must look within—
Curb demand and stop where it begins.
