ACCOUNTABILITY AIN’T THE ENEMY (WAKE-UP CALL VERSION)
by Robert Ramage
Intro (spoken – raw, no music → slow drum pulse)
No woman wakes up wanting to be called toxic.
She didn’t wake up planning to fight you.
If she’s reacting… ask yourself what she’s reacting to.
Verse 1 (tight, tense groove)
She didn’t wake up angry, didn’t plan the war,
Didn’t wake up trying to slam that door,
Every reaction’s got a reason behind it,
But we ignore the cause, then criticize it.
We call her crazy, say she’s too much,
When she’s begging for safety, not control or touch,
We stay unchanged, hide behind pride,
While she’s breaking just trying to survive.
Verse 2 (harder guitars, more bite)
You point out flaws like you’re bulletproof,
But dodge the mirror when it speaks the truth,
You want respect but won’t show consistency,
You want submission without accountability.
That ain’t leadership, that’s entitlement,
That’s ego hiding in confidence,
A real man builds, he don’t tear down,
He don’t wear a crown he didn’t earn yet, now.
Verse 3 (drop instruments slightly – punch the words)
You manipulate, gaslight, shift the blame,
Then act surprised when she’s not the same,
You want peace but you move unsafe,
You want loyalty but hesitate,
If she’s emotional, don’t call her weak,
Ask what you ignored when she tried to speak.
Verse 4 (full band returns – driving)
We got three jobs, let’s make it plain:
Keep her happy, protect, and maintain,
That don’t mean just dollars or paying the rent,
It’s emotional cover, spiritual strength,
Protect her heart, protect her trust,
Protect her peace if you say it’s love,
Love her right and she’ll show you a woman
You didn’t even know existed—honest.
Chorus (anthem – big, undeniable)
Accountability ain’t the enemy,
It’s the mirror men refuse to see,
You want her best? Be your best first,
Or watch real love die from neglect and thirst,
You don’t lead with fear, control, or blame,
You lead by protecting her heart and name,
Accountability ain’t the enemy—
It’s how grown men love responsibly.
Bridge (breakdown – truth bomb)
There’s nothing a woman won’t do
For a man who loves her with intention and truth,
Consistency, integrity, protection too,
That’s how trust gets bulletproof.
If you want a queen beside your throne,
Build a kingdom she feels safe to call home.
Final Chorus (bigger / half-time feel)
Accountability ain’t the enemy,
It’s the doorway to real masculinity,
If this song makes you uncomfortable, good—
Growth never came from misunderstood pride or ego-hood.
Accountability ain’t the enemy,
It’s the wake-up call men desperately need.
Outro (spoken – fade, single guitar)
This ain’t about winning women.
This is about becoming men.
