Prompt / Lyrics
Yin & Yang ** by Robert Ramage Intro Before the dust knew it was dust, Before the stars were set in trust, There was a word without a name, And a breath that never spoke the same. Verse 1 From the void, Yin took form, Cool as night, quiet as womb, It laid the dark where seeds could sleep, Gave rest to the soul, gave depth to the deep. Verse 2 Then Yang rose with a thundering sound, Fire and light breaking ground, It lifted the hills, called day from night, Set the sun on its burning flight. Chorus Yin and Yang, written in stone, Two not meant to stand alone, The earth turns steady, the heavens stay, Because both pull—but not away. Verse 3 (Parable – Part I) There was a cat that watched the gate, Silent eyes, patient with fate, It knew the night, it felt the ground, Heard every truth without a sound. And there was a dog that ran the field, Chasing life with a loyal zeal, Heart on fire, never still, Born to move, born to will. Verse 4 (Parable – Part II) The cat said, “Wait, for the world is wide,” The dog said, “Run, or the flame will die,” One saw danger, one saw grace, One held ground, one gave chase. And when the storm broke hard and fast, The dog would rush, the cat would last, One stood guard, one led the way, And both survived another day. Chorus (Repeat / Lift) Yin and Yang, flesh and breath, Rest and rise, life and death, Not the same, but intertwined, By a law older than time. Bridge (Biblical Tone) As it was written before the fall, A house divided cannot stand at all, Strength without mercy turns to dust, Love without courage turns to rust. The heart decides the warrior’s path, Not the sword, not the wrath, Blessed are those who understand The power held in the other hand. Outro So when you wonder why souls collide, Why opposite hearts still choose the ride, Remember the circle, ancient and true— Life was never one… It was always two.
