Never too old,
I don’t care what you’ve been told
It’s okay to be bold,
Or to tremble when you don’t feel like gold.
No matter your age,
That should never be taken from you.
Be you through and through.
It’s oh, so very true.
Never too old,
For another dance,
Look at me I’m locked in this trance.
Another tear drop in my eye.
I don’t know why.
Never too old
I never will outgrow it all.
There will be days I feel like I’m going to fall.
Still want to yell, shout, cry, stomp and pout.
Not have everyone stare,
Say I don’t care.
Why did I have to grow? It just isn’t fair!
Never too old.
I may want to crawl into your arms,
Away from the worlds harm,
I may wish time would slow.
Because sometimes it is all a blur.
Never too old,
I may want to play a little longer
It’ll help me become a little stronger.
Never too old,
To whine because I’m cold.
I don’t want to fit into this mold.
I still want to tremble, cry, feel butterflies,
Reach for the skies.
And not see everyone else’s eyes.
Say I don’t care.
Why did I have to grow? It just isn’t fair!
Never too old,
To feel all the feels.
To wear sneakers or dance in high heels.
Never too old
To need to crawl,
Or take baby steps that are oh, so small.
Or to run faster than ever known
After all, I’m human not a stone.
Never too old,
To be madder than ever before.
To curl up on the floor, or hide in the closest store.
Or to jump with glee,
It’s as easy as one, two, three when I am free.
Never too old.
Be bold.
Because you are oh, never too old.
