O Lord of light…
O Lord of love…
O Lord of grace…
This world is tired.
The earth is crying.
Hearts are searching for something only Heaven can give.
So we ask the question…
When will You return?
And somewhere deep within my spirit,
I heard a voice say…
“Prepare.”
[VERSE 1]
When will You come and heal this place?
We’re tired of the darkness, we’re searching for grace.
The skies look dim and the earth still groans,
People feel lost even surrounded by homes.
We cry, “O God, come dwell within,”
Bring us back when the world pulls us into sin.
How long till we hear that trumpet sound?
How long till Your glory comes shining down?
I heard a voice say, “Child, don’t be afraid,
You don’t know the hour, but My promise remains.
The signs are before you, the moment is near,
But before I return, you must let go of fear.
Clean your heart, clean your home,
Don’t carry darkness everywhere that you roam.
Put down your pride, release what you hide,
Forgive those who hurt you and let love inside.”
[CHORUS]
When will You return, Lord?
When will the heavens open wide?
When will the trumpet sound
And Your glory fill the sky?
I don’t know the hour,
I don’t know the day,
But I’ll keep my heart ready
And I’ll walk Your narrow way.
When will You return?
Whenever that moment comes…
Let me be ready, Lord.
Let me be ready when You come.
[VERSE 2]
Every breath that I breathe is another mercy,
Another opportunity to become who You called me to be.
So I’m letting go of grudges, letting go of my pride,
Letting go of the things I kept buried inside.
If I hurt somebody, Lord, give me the strength
To humble myself and make it right again.
Teach me how to love when loving gets hard,
Teach me how to forgive when forgiveness leaves scars.
I don’t wanna meet You with my heart still cold,
Holding onto things that I should’ve let go.
I wanna serve, I wanna give, I wanna live,
With an open heart and everything I have to give.
So when that blazing light comes breaking through,
And Heaven opens up with a beautiful view,
I’ll lift my eyes without running away,
Knowing I prepared for that glorious day.
[CHORUS — FINAL]
When will You return, Lord?
When will the heavens open wide?
When will the trumpet sound
And Your glory fill the sky?
I don’t know the hour,
I don’t know the day,
But I’ll keep my heart ready
And I’ll walk Your narrow way.
When will You return?
Whenever that moment comes…
Let me be ready, Lord.
Let me be ready when You come.
[OUTRO — Spoken]
I don’t need to know the hour.
I don’t need to know the day.
I just need to make sure
my heart is ready.
Forgive.
Love.
Serve.
Repent.
Let go of fear.
Because when Heaven opens…
I don’t want to be asking,
“Why didn’t I prepare?”
I want to lift my eyes and say…
“Lord… I’m ready
