Headed home
By: Christopher Eck
I'm headed back to my old home
Behind them walls, where I've roamed
My name's just a number, ain't no face
Just another inmate, in a lonely place
Oh, I'm fallin' back, into the darkness and pain
Addiction's got me, like a ball and chain
I'm leavin' behind, the ones I love
Headed back to prison, sent from the judge
I see old friends, in the penitentiary line
We share a nod, a glance that's divine
We talk of old times, of struggles and getting high
But deep down inside, we're just tryin' to survive
Oh, I'm fallin' back, into the darkness and pain
Addiction's got me, like a ball and chain
I'm leavin' behind, the ones I love
Headed back to prison, sent from the judge
I thought I'd learned, from my past mistakes
But here I am again, with these cold prison shakes
I'm searchin' for a way, to break this vicious cycle
But it's hard to find hope, when you're trapped inside
Oh, I'm fallin' back, into the darkness and pain
Addiction's got me, like a ball and chain
I'm leavin' behind, the ones I love
Headed back to prison, sent from the judge
My name's just a number, in this place
But deep down inside, I'm still a human face
I'm searchin' for redemption, for a brand new start
But till then, I'm stuck, in this prison I call home
