We made it, the night clears

Leaving scars, pain on every journey.

Trauma in our eyes, shadows of the past,

Here in Altenessen, lost in the days.

We reach for the stars, but fall deep,

Broken souls, in the shadow of duty.

Every day a struggle, the sky so gray,

Praying for hope, but it remains so lukewarm.

No one wishes anything for the other, only resentment in the breast,

Fallen warriors, deserted to the dust.

Away from alcohol, escaping the pills,

Dreaming of peace, but the demons pull us.

Streets full of love, yet also full of sorrow,

Here in Altenessen, the truth remains.

We live in the shadows, yet seek the light,

Every day a struggle, in our faces.

Screw the past, we are the future.

Thoughts of better days, of freedom and happiness,

But here is the street, there's no turning back.

Fallen souls, searching for more,

In a world full of pain, full of strain and resistance.
