Verse 1
Mma Abu, we still call your name,
Though the world is not the same.
On the eleventh day of June,
You returned to Allah far too soon.
The blessed month of Dhul-Hijjah came,
And Allah called you by your name.
The month of mercy, Hajj, and prayer,
May His endless mercy meet you there.
Chorus
Mma Abu, rest in peace,
May Allah grant your soul release.
Among the gardens of Jannah bright,
May your grave be filled with light.
Allahumma barik lana fi Dhil-Hijjah,
Bless us with faith and righteousness.
May our tears become a prayer,
Until we meet our loved ones there.
Verse 2
Before you went, another soul,
Mma Adiza reached her goal.
On the eighteenth day of July,
She answered Allah's sacred call on high.
Mother and daughter, side by side,
In Allah's mercy now abide.
The month of sacrifice and grace,
May Allah grant them the highest place.
Chorus
Mma Abu, rest in peace,
May Allah grant your soul release.
Mma Adiza, rest in peace,
May Allah grant your soul release.
The days of Eid, the days of light,
The days when hearts return to right.
May Allah forgive and bless them both,
And honor every prayer they brought.
Bridge
Ya Allah, forgive their sins,
Let eternal mercy begin.
Expand their graves with heavenly light,
Make their resting place peaceful and bright.
Ya Allah, accept our du'a today,
Guide us all upon Your way.
When our time in this world is done,
Gather us again in Jannatul-Firdaws as one.
Final Chorus
Mma Abu, beloved mother dear,
Your love remains forever near.
Mma Adiza, grandmother kind,
Your memories stay within our minds.
Dhul-Hijjah came, and Allah chose,
To grant you rest from worldly woes.
Until the day we meet again,
We pray for you and say: Ameen.
Ameen, Ameen, Ya Rabbal Alameen.
Ameen, Ameen, Ya Arhamar Rahimeen.
