In this vast expanse, where shadows loom,
I wander as an alien, amidst the gloom.
A society woven with threads of deceit,
Where truth is a stranger, and lies are discreet.
Trust issues linger like fog in the air,
I question the smiles, the glances we share.
Each word feels like sand, slipping through hands,
Can we build bridges on shifting, false sands?
Anxiety's whisper, a constant refrain,
I tiptoe through thoughts, burdened by strain.
What’s genuine here? I ponder and pry,
In this maze of confusion, I search for the why.
Isolation creeps in, a heavy, dark shroud,
In a crowd yet alone, I feel lost in the crowd.
My truths are like secrets, too fragile to speak,
In the silence that follows, I feel so unique.
Cognitive dissonance dances in my mind,
Two worlds clash together, leaving me blind.
What’s real? What’s a ruse? I’m caught in the fray,
As I battle the contradictions, day after day.
Desensitized hearts now accept what’s untrue,
Morality wanes, as apathy grew.
The weight of the lies, a burden we share,
In a world devoid of ethics, can we still care?
Depression's dark shadow, a thief of the light,
It lingers and latches, dimming my sight.
In this realm of mistrust, hope feels so rare,
An alien in anguish, gasping for air.
Self-esteem falters, like leaves in the breeze,
Questioning my worth, as I strive for some peace.
In the mirror, a stranger stares back with despair,
Is this the reflection of someone who dares?
Fear of vulnerability, I wear like a cloak,
What if I show them the truth that I spoke?
Rejection's sharp sting, a wound too profound,
So I hide in the shadows, where comfort is found.
Manipulation thrives, a puppet’s cruel dance,
With power in whispers, they pull strings at a glance.
In a culture of fear, we’re taught to comply,
While the honest grow weary, and the brave choose to cry.
Disillusionment settles like dust on my soul,
With each passing day, I’m losing control.
Governments falter, the media spins,
In a world of deceit, where do we begin?
Yet still, I believe we can spark a new flame,
By nurturing truth, we can break through the shame.
Fostering transparency, let’s tear down the walls,
Encourage open hearts, as honesty calls.
