A Hazy Shade of Winter
by Robert Ramage
Intro (spoken, over a gritty guitar swell)
Snow on the sidewalk, ice on my breath…
But the cold can’t touch a heart that’s burning.
Turn the amp up.
Let the strings speak.
Tonight we melt the winter down.
---
Verse 1
Frost on the windows, shadows on the street,
Another long night where the dark feels deep.
But you strike that chord and the world comes alive,
Electric fire in your hands keeps the soul revived.
Verse 2
White sky falling like a faded memory,
Every step heavy in the cold machinery.
But your guitar cuts through like a lightning blade,
Shredding every ghost that the winter made.
Verse 3
Hands are frozen but the pulse is strong,
You bend those strings and everything feels wrong-to-right.
The haze gets clearer with every sound,
The storm breaks open when you turn it loud.
Verse 4
Now we’re running through the night like the frost won’t bite,
Chasing down the dawn with the riffs you ignite.
Your six-string warrior heart won’t hide,
You beat back winter from the inside.
---
Chorus
It’s just a hazy shade of winter,
But your guitar tears it apart.
Every note is a spark in the darkness,
Every strum is the beat of your heart.
Yeah, you blaze right through the cold night’s whisper—
Nothing freezes a soul like yours.
Turn it up, let it roar, let it thunder…
You’re the fire that the winter can’t ignore.
---
Bridge
Break the ice—
Let the solo climb higher,
A serpent of sound,
A runaway fire.
In the ashes of night,
You’re the one thing shining bright,
A renegade breaking through the white.
---
Outro
So let the snow fall, let the world turn gray—
Your guitar paints color all over the day.
A hazy shade of winter can’t take your flame…
You're the storm…
And winter speaks your name.
