Without a home

I spent my days
Running away
Never had a real home
From one place to another

I’d lay awake dreaming
Of a home 
Of a place with a mother and father
Those who’d be proud of me
Excited to see me

Instead I’d roam from hotel 
To another state
Not a certain direction or goal
Just moving to find myself 

Until one day
I found you
When you spoke to me
And said you wanted to enter my heart
A revelation that lit a fire in me

You gave me a purpose 
For the pain and the struggles I faced
You Jesus carried me 
And changed my future
