Better Days

As I lay awake 
I dream for better days
Hoping to find the peace
I desperately need

Then some days
I struggle to keep the pace
This road is too fast lane
I’m driving myself insane

I try to understand why
Things have happened this way
The unfortunate things
That’s when I knelt to pray

I cried out 
For the things that were taken
The grief that left me shaken 
An endless roundabout

The misery in my soul
Would soon be wiped away 
When the light appeared 
And said my name

Now when I lay awake
I see a different way
A future is coming
 to take me away
