Mask

I wear a smile made of glass,

Cracked beneath the weight I pass.

They see a light, but not the flame,

That burns in silence, whispering my name.

Every laugh’s a painted lie,

A shimmer hiding all I cry.

Behind the beauty, shadows dance,

In this fragile, haunted trance.

Behind the mask, I fade away,

Screaming words I’ll never say.

Can you see the ghost I’ve become,

Under the moon, I come undone?

Behind the mask — I disappear,

Drowning softly, no one near.

It’s safer here, it’s quiet here,

Behind the mask…

My voice is wrapped in velvet chains,

Echoes lost in broken veins.

Every truth I try to speak,

Bleeds through seams that softly leak.

Mirror’s cold, it doesn’t lie,

Shows the storm behind my eyes.

But I still smile for the crowd,

Silent thunder, screaming loud.

Behind the mask, I fade away,
