Earthen Vessel

Lord, I'm just an earthen vessel

And you've washed away my sin

Your light has shone deep in my heart

Where your treasure rests within

I have no power of my own

My power source is you

I give you all the glory

In all I say and do

Troubles come on every side

But I will not be distressed

Confused at times,

but not dispared

I know this is a test

I am fragile, I am flawed, a simple jar of clay

But You have chosen this poor heart to be Your dwelling place

So shine Your light right through the cracks, for everyone to see

The illuminating power, Lord, belongs to You, not me

God you're faithful to be with me

Promising to see me through

My light affliction is but a moment

From your eternal point of view

May I be an earthen vessel

At your service precious lord

For deep down inside my spirit

You are cherished and adored

What great joy it gives me

To be used by you each day

Use me wholly for your glory

As I walk along life's way
