Embracing Self,-Worth

In a new dawn, I’ve learned to guard,

My heart, my peace, my own reward.

No more bending, no more strain,

I release the burdens, I shed the pain.

No longer the pillar for those who won’t stand,

I’ll draw my own line, take back my own hand.

Why fix what’s broken, when it’s not my fault?

I’ve learned to say no, to halt the assault.

Draining my spirit to keep others whole,

I reclaim my joy, I reclaim my soul.

Life’s too brief to always be last,

I’ll cherish my moments, I’ll hold them fast.

Prioritize self, let compassion flow,

To give is a gift, but to take is to grow.

My worth isn’t measured by what I bestow,

In this journey of life, I’ve found my glow.

So here’s to the peace, the boundaries I set,

To a life full of joy, with no need to regret.

For in learning to love myself, I truly see,

That it’s okay to be first, it’s okay to be me.
