I just got back,
from the tobacco field
Took daddy some water
And his morning pill
Up before sunrise
And the last one to bed
This is how
He kept the family fed
On his knees every night
Before he went to bad
Praying to the lord
for the kids he fed
Sunday morning,
He's ready for church
Making, sure that
We were dressed first
On the front row harming
His favorite song
Deacon sitting beside him
Harming along
Back up in the morning
Before the brake of day
Already filled the barn loft
Full of hay
Aint no man like daddy
He always put us first
Wearing those worn out shoes
But would give you his shirt
Right off his back
No questionssss asked
Daddy's is buried up on the hill
Beneath that old willow tree
As kids ,if we didn't see daddy
We knew just where he'd be
On the hill. Talking to God
Beneath. That. Old. willow
Tree. Beneath the willow tree. Beneath the willow tree,,
Now I still talk to daddy
Beneath that old willow tree
