Eyes of Deception

Silent shadows whisper in the night

Lost within these restless thoughts, I fight

These eyes see through the lies, the masks they wear

Detect the hollow smiles, the cold despair

Walking through the shadows, drowning in my mind

Seeking truth, but what I find is hard to find

Decaying from inside, I feel the ache

Hating what I see, the choices I mistake

Alone in silent pain, I face my fears

Counting all my broken hopes and tears

Through these eyes, I see the truth unmasked

Fading hope and love that long ago I cast

Ignoring the lies, I choose to stay

In my world of pain, decay, and dismay

All the fake smiles, they unravel now

Revealing scars I don’t know how

To heal, to run, to hide away

From the darkness that’s here to stay

Alone with my thoughts of hate and denial

Waiting for the dawn, just for a while

Until the night consumes me whole
