It’s not quite clear how friendships start when meeting someone new.
Instant connections often spark a friendship follow-through.
It’s easy from day one, it seems, when the laughter starts to flow -
Yet an outstretched hand, even genuine, might become a row.
So then what’s next? Should bitterness overtake our lives?
Or be so fake it’s obvious we’re wearing a disguise?
Just let time work its magic; try to find ways to relate –
If that friendship’s truly meant to be, leave it up to fate.
Nothing can be forced or pushed – don’t tell me how to feel! 
Do ‘day to days’, forge ahead, you’ll find you both will heal
From jumping off on that wrong foot – and falling in that rut!
Learn to talk. Communicate. Make choices from your gut! 
Make bad jokes, laugh and goof, and have an absolute BLAST!
Eventually you learn you found a friendship that will last!!!
Don’t try too hard…what’s meant to be will fall into your heart...
Best of friends grow ties that bind the slower that they start.
