Have you ever looked into the mirror and wondered who was there?
Like you’re wearing somebody else’s face but living in your skin.
Do you laugh because you’re happy… or just because it’s expected?
Do you ever wake up wishing something inside you would finally switch back on?
“You’re just tired.”
“Everybody feels like that.”
Have you ever walked through a room and felt like a ghost?
Watching your own life like it’s happening to somebody else.
Have you ever been surrounded by people… and still felt completely alone?
“You’re overthinking.”
“You’ll be alright.”
Have you ever felt alive but not here?
They say, “You’re fine,” but they don’t see the fear.
I’ve been fading, tryna find my placement,
Lost inside my mind… depersonalization.
⸻
Have you ever touched your own hands and they didn’t feel like yours?
Wondered if you’re losing your mind but stayed quiet because you’re scared of the answer?
Have you ever prayed just to feel sadness… happiness… anything at all?
Or do you fake another smile so nobody asks what’s wrong?
“You’re being dramatic.”
“Snap out of it.”
Have you ever wanted to explain what you’re feeling…
Then realized there aren’t words for something that doesn’t even feel real?
How do you tell someone you’re drowning…
When you can’t even feel the water?
“You’ll get over it.”
“Stop thinking so much.”
Have you ever felt alive but not here?
They say, “You’re fine,” but they don’t see the fear.
I’ve been fading, tryna find my placement,
Lost inside my mind… depersonalization.
Maybe somebody you love is answering, “I’m okay,” every single day.
Maybe they stopped talking because they don’t know how to explain it anymore.
Maybe they’re still showing up to work… still paying bills… still smiling for pictures…
While every morning they’re begging to feel real again.
Don’t wait until silence becomes goodbye.
Don’t mistake survival for healing.
Sometimes the loudest battle leaves the quietest scars.
If someone tells you they don’t feel like themselves… believe them.
Sit with them. Listen.
You don’t have to understand their mind to remind them they’re not alone.
Have you ever felt alive but not here?
If you have… I hope somebody hears.
We’re all searching, tryna find our placement,
Lost inside our minds… but we’re not our diagnosis.
One conversation…
One person who listens…
Can remind somebody they’re still here.
