Exhausted Ghosts

Breath shallow, shadows crawl,

Walking the edge of it all.

Tried to shut the door, lock the past away,

But your whisper, like a ghost, still finds a way.

Worn out from the battles, tired veins retreat,

In the mirror’s reflection, I can't find my feet.

Doubt's the ghost that haunts my mind,

Fighting for a peace I'll never find.

I'm exhausted, broken, torn,

Caught between the love and scorn.

Fear I let you back in now, I'm so damn exhausted,

Battling these demons, my strength is exhausted.

Falling into moments, I can’t escape,

Wasting all my solace, lost in this state.

Cracks in my armor, bleeding through,

Clinging to the remnants of something true.

Can’t keep fighting, can’t keep running,

Exhausted heart, forever stunned.

So I breathe, I surrender, I let it all go,

Exhausted but broken, still hoping for a glow.
