By Grace, We Grew
Back in twenty-twenty, when the year was new,
Two different hearts were learning what to do.
You came in laughing, I was quiet as the rain,
I held my words too tightly, you broke through the page.
Teasing each other, never quite the same.
You led the way, I followed close behind,
Two annoying souls with one spirit shared that aligned.
And slowly, by grace, we grew,
From awkward days to something true and new.
Not just a joke, not just a team,
But love God shaped inside a vessel of two.
By grace, by grace, we grew,
We found our hearts finding what Jesus desires to do
In ministry we carried what was set in place,
Assistant and leader, serving God together
We learned how to build up one another while the difficulty looked on,
How to lift each other when the strength is gone.
Our smiles add colors in all our quiet days and nights,
Our quiet prayers would hold us through the fight.
And every shared burden, every answered call,
Made two divided hearts begin to grow.
From banter to a deeper kind of care,
From “just a friend” to being partners in Faith
What God had planted started rising high,
Like morning light against a widening sky.
He was molding us, day by day,
Everytime, He is always holding us all the way
Turning our heartbeat close to Him and love each other as God ever did.
What started in laughter, He made us holy,
A patient love, gentle and beautifully.
If this is the road He wrote for us,
Then we will walk it, hand in trust.
And slowly, by grace, we grew,
From awkward days to something true and new.
Not just a joke, not just a team,
But love God shaped inside a vessel of two.
By grace, by grace, we grew,
We found our hearts finding what Jesus desires to do.
