Bat in the Shadows

Creepin' through the night, wings sharp as a blade,

Echoes in the dark, shadows where I stayed.

Cloak of the moon, huntin' under its shade,

Feastin' on the fear that the daylight forbade.

Bat in the shadows, glide with no sound,

Eyes in the abyss where the lost are found.

King of the cave, I wear the night as my crown,

Swoop low, take flight, never touchin' the ground.

Fangs like daggers, venom in my spit,

Hunger in my soul, can’t quit, won’t sit.

Heartbeat sonar, I’m locked in the grit,

Predator in the pitch, the air’s where I commit.

Flappin' in the black, whispers in the breeze,

Dance with the dark, shadows tease.

Prey in my sights, no plea, no ease,

Night’s my cathedral, no locks, no keys.
