Puddles and Ponds

I was sinking in the silence, had no way to breathe

Waves of my own decisions crashing over me

Then You met me in the chaos, whispered “child stay still”

Even in my broken pieces You were God still

Every step You steady me, You make the storm feel slow

What I thought was loss, You turned it all around

Now I’m moving with Your rhythm, I ain’t lost in the noise

Got the Spirit in my lungs and I’m hearing Your voice

I’m holding to the promise that You won’t let go

Where You lead I will follow, I don’t need to see

‘Cause the One who holds the waves is the One holding me

So if the waves try to take me, I’m cutting right through

I don’t sink when I’m standing on a promise that’s true

Spirit lead, yeah I follow, no turning around

I was lost but I’m locked in, I’m kingdom-bound

I don’t need validation, I don’t chase what they say

I was called out the darkness, I was built for this day

So come test the foundation, it won’t shake, won’t move

I’m anchored in the One that the storms can’t undo
