"Sid Ferret’s Wander"

There once was a crook, Sid Ferret by name,

He’d steal and stray, without care or shame,

Thinking life’s alright, just pillage and plunder,

But still he’d wonder, what lies there under.

(Newspaper says, "The man had a plan")

In the warmth of the sun, let’s sit for a spell,

But even he knew, there’s more to this tale.

No more can man be right than another,

We all lie alone, without one another.

A bright blunder, if you look under,

Can you see it be we, who choose our way?

But without the other, we’ll lose our cover,

In the shadows, alone, we’ll stay.

What could it be, that sparked his soul,

Was it a flash, a flicker to hold?

Sid Ferret wondered, can you say,

If light in the dark will guide the way?

Lies like a flash, time falls fast,

He chased the night, but couldn’t last.

What goes on out there, no one can tell,

But in his mind, he heard the bell.
