Echoes in the shadow of a bygone age,

Hear the whisper of a storm's rage.

Battered shield and scars beneath the sun,

Mighty tales when the battles were won.

Silent tears in the dusk's cold air,

No one saw the pain I wear.

Violence carved the soul I defend,

A gentle giant, forged in the end.

No one will understand, the fire and the sweat,

The strength it took to hold, to not forget.

Let slip the dogs of war, let chaos unfurl,

Death can have me when it earns me, in this world.

Standing tall where the brave once fought,

In the silence, lessons taught.

Heavy is the crown of tears,

Echoes of my hopes and fears.

In the storm’s eye, I find my peace,

From ash to dawn, I find release.
