Legacy of Shadows

Whispers in the shadows, seeds that we sow

Echoes of a future we fear we can't control

Loving little hands, yet teaching them to divide

Words filled with fury, in their young eyes confide

Floating on the currents of the storms that we create

What do they believe? Is it love or just hate?

We paint our visions blood-red, with scars from yesterday

Building walls so high, for fears we can't allay

What are we leaving behind, this bitter legacy?

A world torn apart, by the hatred we breed

Can we break this cycle before it turns to dust?

Or in ashes and sorrow, they'll mistrust

Stories filled with darkness, taught as gospel truth

Instilling blame, inciting youth

Future in our hands, yet we choose to fight

Creating monsters, in the dying of the light

Will we rise from the ashes, or fall into despair?

Is the love we show enough to clear the air?
