From Gold to Grief

Yeah, it's a story from the grind,

From shining bright to dimming lights,

Listen closely, hear the pain,

Life's lessons carved in the rain.

I came from the hustle, had it all, you see,

Luxury cars, stacks, living life carefree,

Diamonds on my wrist, gold on my chain,

Thought I'd never feel heartbreak, never see pain.

But wealth can't replace the love I lost,

Jason was my brother, couldn't count the cost.

One moment he was here, then the world went dark,

A flicker of a flame, now just a mark.

Every step I took, the weight it grew,

Mama left us too, where's the light I knew?

Friends I had around me fading like the dusk,

Life's a bitter struggle, trust me, it’s unjust.

So I walk these roads, heavy is the load,

Trying to stay patient while my heart corrodes.

Praying for my wife, the battle's tough and long,

Stage three cancer, fighting to stay strong.

Late nights in the hospital, hope slipping away,

Exhausted in my soul with each passing day.

Holding her hand, we're chasing stars,

Finding strength in love, despite the scars.

Used to flex on ‘em, now I flex for survival,

Remembering the dreams, I aimed for revival.

From hustling hard to just hustling hope,

In a world full of shadows, learning to cope.

Each prayer a whisper, each moment a fight,

In the darkest nights, gotta search for that light.

I see the faces of those I lost along the road,

Life took their laughter, left a heavy load.

Trying to keep the faith, in knots I twist,

Holding onto love, it’s the only thing I missed.
