A Prayer for Strength

Late night, I’m staring at the ceiling,

Heart heavy, can’t shake this feeling.

Whispers echo in this quiet room,

Lord, I need your light to cut through the gloom.

Every morning I wake up to a weary sigh,

What’s the use when every joy just passes by?

Try my best to keep this love afloat,

But the river’s running dry, and I’m losing hope.

She looks at me with eyes full of doubt,

Wondering what this life is all about.

I’m giving all I have, but it’s never enough,

Jesus, guide my heart, it's been rough.

Lord, I’m tired, I’m weary, I’m worn,

Trying to walk this road I never chose.

Show me a sign in the dark, something to ignite,

A spark in the heart, a beacon of light.

Vehicles break down, life’s piling high,

Can’t catch a break, feel like I’m losing my sky.

Prayers on my lips, but silence falls around,

Help me believe that love can be found.

Every tear I shed is a word unsaid,

Trying to find a way back to the love we bred.

But the weight of the world seems more than I can bear,

Whisper to me, Lord, that you’re still there.

She needs to see this man who I used to be,

Show her the strength and the light inside me.

Breathe life into dreams that we’ve let fade,

Guide my steps, Lord, don’t let our love degrade.

Lord, I’m tired, I’m weary, I’m worn,

Trying to walk this road I never chose.

Show me a sign in the dark, something to ignite,

So here I am, Lord, on my knees I plead,

Help me find the words; let me finally succeed.

In this battle of love, give me courage, give me grace,

Together with her, let us find our place.
