I came to this land with a dream in my heart

But the moment I stepped foot, they saw my color and started to depart

"Go back to where you came from," they would say

But this is my home now, I'm here to stay

I face the stereotypes, the microaggressions too

But I won't be silenced, I'll rise above it all, boo

My skin is brown, but my spirit is gold

I'll keep pushing forward, until my story is told

They see my accent, my brown skin, my name

And instantly, they judge me, like I'm to blame

For crimes I didn't commit, for sins I don't own

But I'll keep speaking up, until my voice is known

I've been called a thief, a burden on society

But I'm a hard worker, a contributor, a reality

I'm a mother, a father, a sister, a brother

I'm a human being, with a story to be told, and I'm here to weather

The model minority, that's what they call me

But behind the mask, I'm struggling to be free

The pressure to conform, to fit into a box

But I'm more than just a stereotype, I'm a complex soul

I've faced the racism, the xenophobia too

I'm a daughter, a son, a friend, a neighbor

I'm a part of this community, and I'm here to deliver

They see my hijab, my beard, my name

For terrorism, for hate, for crimes I don't own

I'm a peace-loving person, with a heart that's pure

I'm a contributor to society, with a story to endure

I'm a teacher, a doctor, a engineer, a friend

I'm a human being, with a right to live, and I'm here to mend

I came from a land, that's been colonized

My people were displaced, our culture was compromised

But I won't be silenced, I'll rise above

I'll keep fighting for my rights, for my people's love

I'm a warrior, a leader, a survivor, a thriver

I'm a part of this land, and I'm here to stay alive

I'll keep pushing forward, until justice is served

Until my people's voices are heard, and our stories are preserved
