Reaper's Hand

Shadow creepin’, clock hands sinkin’ low,

Cloak swayin’, whispers from the undertow.

Grim grin flashin’, deal’s on the table,

Told him I’m ready, mind sharp as a razor.

Reaper’s hand out, I ain’t even flinchin’,

Chains unlocked, feel the soul start driftin’.

Eyes on the void, yeah, the end’s so vivid,

No fear now, just a life well-lifted.

Steps echo loud in the valley of the lost,

Every move heavy, every breath got a cost.

He said, "No runnin’, time ain’t elastic,"

Told him, "I’m good, this life been Jurassic."

Scythe on his back, moonlight on the blade,

He said, "No regrets, just debts to be paid."

I gave a nod, felt the weight start to fade,

In his shadow now, walkin’ unafraid.
