The memories suffocate, they stay,
You want to forget, but they won’t go away.
You try to go numb, but it’s no use at all,
You're forever trapped in your mental walls.
A prison you enter without any fight,
There's only one way to leave this night.
A gun you hold close to your head,
Or feel the blade where your veins turn red.
You have to live, they say it's all fine,
Life’s just a game, for all of mankind.
Give yourself time, and soon you'll see,
This still isn’t the worst it can be.
The sun shines softly on your skin,
A warm, nice touch you feel within.
But the storm is hiding, waiting still,
Clouds are forming, lightning will kill.
Maybe one day things will be right,
Every wound will heal overnight.
Even if joy never comes my way,
At least in peace I’ll rest someday.
