This Time the Dough Bird

With my mom who I admire very much

She sometimes gets on my nerves

When she repeats her stories

Over and over and over again

But I have now seen the logic in all that

As the mind needs to be reminded

Of impossibly important lessons

That comes to pass

And in this collectiveness of the family

We shall always have forever

As I dream in cliches

This is a from her to me

As she will be my forevermore

In my tomorrows

No matter how old I might be

Because the truth of her wisdom

Has been burned

In the back of my eyeballs

Seared there painfully

Yet I shall witness

In my distant future

Shall be a sight to see

Today we sit at the dough bird

What a blessing my mom is

From eatery to eatery to eatery

Almost a different restaurant

Every afternoon

There's so many in

Phoenix, Arizona to go to

I feel blissful here

With each bite

Of my delightful golden

Chicken pot pie

Perhaps I will

Stay for dessert

I never say never

But my Simply Caesar was the best
