Just the other day drove back to my hometown
Didn’t let anyone know I was in town
Park my truck in the field where my childhood home use to be
Turn the lights off in the truck put the windows down to let in the country air and closed my eyes
Thought about all the memories the good and the bad
Reasons why I pack up and left town now I’m 50 50 wanting to come back
It was once a house full of love and full of laughter and every emotion you could think of
While my eyes were closed picture me being a young kid again telling myself I had nothing but now i realize i had it all
Was so eager to pack my bags and leave
Now I realize home will never leave me
Driving back to the city every time I get halfway my heart tells me to go back
I keep driving forwards but the memories get stronger
Mhm home home how i miss you
Mhm home home how i miss you
The way the sun shine over the mountain
The way people smile when they see you when your not trying to be seen
Mhm home home how I miss you
Never forget where I come from
Even the times it didn’t love me
Didn’t realize it was making me into a better man
Thought bout the things i didn’t have now i am gone I realize how home will never leave me
