I kneel to God and salute the flag

Every morning when the sun breaks through,

I thank the Lord for red, white, and blue.

For the ones who fought, the ones who gave,

For freedom’s light that still won’t fade.

I bow my head, I take a stand,

With faith in God and love for this land.

I kneel to God, and salute the flag,

Two things I hold with honor, never brag.

You can kneel to the flag and not believe in His name,

That’s your right, your voice, your flame.

But I’ll pray for you with all my heart,

’Cause love and grace is where it starts.

Some see lines that tear apart,

But I see hope in every heart.

Different roads but the same old dream,

To live in peace and keep faith seen.

So I’ll stand tall where I belong,

With mercy soft and spirit strong.
